Grade: A … The Wild Robot is a brilliant movie everyone should see because it will simply warm your heart.

The Wild Robot is about a robot named Roz (voiced by Lupita Nyong’o) that gets stranded on an island due to a shipwreck. She quickly learns all the animals’ language and their way of life. She always has to finish a task given to her because she is programmed that way. Eventually Roz takes on the task of caring for a baby goose and she needs to find a way to protect the baby goose as well as herself.

The movie is beautifully animated and if you can manage to experience it on a 4K Dolby Cinema screen, it will make the eye candy that much better. All of the voice actors in the movie do an incredible job giving a personality to each wild animal on screen. They will make you feel a spectrum of emotions from laughing to crying as you go on Roz’s journey.

Some animated movies might quickly get written off as a kid’s movie. While The Wild Robot is mainly aimed at a child audience, there is plenty within the hour and forty-two minute tight runtime for adults to enjoy as well. Some jokes are aimed at adults and will go over a child’s head, but the story and message of the movie is aimed at everyone. It is a beautiful gift from the filmmakers. This is a movie a family can, and should, enjoy together.

This was easily one of the best movies of the year and I can’t recommend it enough. It is simply a treat for the eyes and for your soul. Grab your kids and do not miss The Wild Robot on the largest screen you can find!
